Vanessa was a great teacher. I was the only participant so I received 1:1 attention. Vanessa understands drawing and sketching. She was very encouraging and positive.

Title or Location: White Trash Rabbit
This is from a series of work I created using human and animal features as a starting point to make new beings. I work in many art mediums but sculpting is what I love the most. Playing with clay is very freeing and it is where I do my most creative work. I rarely have a preconceived notion of what the piece will look like when I begin. So, in this case, I had decided to simply combine some human and rabbit features together. I begin working the clay and my hands take over. Though to some thi

Seeking a bit of color, a bit of Spring, these little blooms were waving at me on a trip to the Garden Center. They were tucked into these vintage silver creamers to create a short parade of color.

I have embraced many themes and styles, some purposely, others more organic the surreal, the macabre, and the comedic have all played arole in driving my imaginative process. Lately, my focus has shifted to thecelestial. Specifically, human understanding of cosmic possibilities, together withthe often-heard notion of planet colonization, of dying Earth, and uncertain futuredays. I h

Title or Location: Promised Hope
Inspired by pastel artist Amanda Houston and her landscapes, I wanted to create a tree that would emulate beauty and joy. The colors I used represent promise, the clouds hope, and the flowers reaching to the heavens. I created this pastel painting on December 12, 2022 for everyone going through alcohol addiction especially, my stepson who at the age of 23 realized his alcoholism had been become detrimental to himself and family. His determination and strength is a promise of hope and a blessing

Title or Location: The Girls
This is Isla, Ellie and Millie. Oil on canvas 27.5 inches x 39.5. They are my friends daughters. I often ask how 'the girls' are doing and there's always a funny story. Isla is full of mischief. Ellie is the sassy budding artist and Millie is a 'little devil' in the best way. I thought it was important to try and capture each of their personalities by working and finishing one at a time. They are beautiful girls. This was a pleasure to paint and I feel it has really tested my ability. I've defin

Title or Location: Memories of Bassano Del Grappa
A beautiful town in northern Italy - a town who protected partisans during WW2 and suffered the loss of all men and boys as retribution. Today it still bears the marks of war on the walls of the town, with the wooden bridge having been rebuilt a number of times due to war. This mosaic commission was created for a much happier reason, to commemorate a long held friendship between two families, here in Australia and there in Italy. Entirely created with hand cut pieces of glass.
