I think the instruction and the instructor were very good. But because it was outside it made it unpleasant because it was so windy it kept blowing away our supplies. It toppled our water multiple times, one time even on a painting that was drying. It also blew our canvasas away if we didn't hold them down and we constantly had to get up and retrieve things. It would have been much better if it was inside. I had to hold all of my stuff down while trying to paint which made it difficult to learn.

Emma was a great instructor--I learned about shading and was beginning to understand perspectives. But it was freezing and miserable with the wind and rain. I really wish the class was inside and hope that future ones will be held inside as it's going to get hot. I don't want to have to worry about the weather when I'm going to an art class.

Title or Location: ?Dance of Petals?
Acrylic on 3D canvas, December 2024This piece is my take on the beauty and form of peonies. I simply love these flowers and often paint them. In this work, I wanted to capture the softness of the petals, the play of light, and a sense of volume. The painting was created in December 2024 in Sacramento. There?s no hidden meaning here ? just a quiet moment and an appreciation for the small details of nature

Entirely made from recycled hay baling twine, "The Canyon Dancer" is a free spirit from the canyons of the Midwest. She twirls celebrating the traditions of her ancestors in this flowing organic form. Harding's work rejuvenates tradition basketry with a contemporary take for the modern audience. There are no fixatives to create these forms, only the tension of the twine sewn in concentric circles.
